Shock and Awe Sketch Show - Voodoo Comedy Playhouse, 1260 22nd Street, Denver, CO 80205
- Sue Creer
Shock and Awe Sketch Show is a dark and absurd sketch comedy show that blends live performance with the digital audio/visual arts into a high energy production that is formulated to stimulate your laugh receptors. Best shared with friends!! We are not your grandmother’s sketch show–unless your grandmother is especially odd. Our style leans toward the dark and the absurd and not especially political or topical (not because we’re afraid of it, but because we already have a lot going on in the sketches). Our influences are broad, but think less like SNL and more like Mr Show. Think less like All That and more like Wonder Showzen. Less Carol Burnett and more Firesign Theater. Imagine something less like the average street performer and more like a dead mime with magical unicorn powers

- Dave Hebert
A Bear’s Choice is Jerry Garcia inspired band. By formula is always true to the Grateful Dead and the Jerry Garcia tone and feel, while blending Dave’s original material into the sets and choosing other artists to cover makes for a well-balanced show. With the belief that fans of the Grateful Dead and this music alike enjoy hearing the evolution of this material, while also being transported back to a time and place where this music was discovered for them. Every show is new and exciting and we truly let the music play the band.

Steve Trevino - Comedy Works Downtown, 1226 15th Street, Denver CO

Steve Treviño is fast becoming one of the country’s hottest comics and the new voice for the 21st century Mexican American. Finding his way from a Hispanic upbringing in a small South Texas town to living his dream in Hollywood, has infused Treviño’s comedy with a “TEX-MEX” sensibility, yet as a performer he has a uniquely American voice that transcends anything about ethnicity, making him universally relatable. Outside of being a national headliner, Treviño has made memorable appearances on The Late Late Show, Comics Unleashed and BET Comic View, among others. He also wrote on Mind of Mencia and produced and wrote on rapper Pit Bull’s La Esquina. Treviño landed in the Nielsen Top 20, with his 1st Showtime comedy special, Grandpa Joe's Son.
